Pinnacle Testing Solutions Ltd provide professional Fixed Wire Testing in London and the surrounding area.
What is Fixed Wire Testing?
Fixed Wire Testing – otherwise known as an ‘Electrical Installation Condition Report’ (EICR) or a ‘Periodic Inspection’ – is an essential part of your Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and essentially inspects your building’s electrical installation.
We carry out Fixed Wire Testing on Commercial, Industrial and Educational facilities only, we do not do any domestic work.
For the majority of commercial businesses, Fixed Wire Testing only needs to be performed every 5 years, however, if your property is a higher risk environment then your installation will need to be tested more frequently. It is important to note that these periods are only recommendations for the maximum time between tests and that any faults or deterioration of the appliances in your property will mean that the intervals between tests will need to be reduced.
As a commercial business owner, it is your responsibility to make sure that your property meets all current wiring regulations in order to ensure that the property is compliant with the workplace safety legislation. Failing to do so will more than likely leave you uninsured too.
What We Test:
Continuity – to ascertain that the earthing is continuous throughout the circuit.
Bonding Conductors Continuity – to ensure bonding is in place and effective.
Ring Circuit Continuity – ascertains whether or not the ring is complete.
Insulation Resistance – to test whether there has been any breakdown in insulation to the installation.
Polarity – to check that the installation is correctly wired.
Earth Fault Loop Impedance – to ascertain the Zs of the installation.
Earth Electrode Resistance – applies to TT systems only, to test the earthing rods.
RCD Testing – to check that Residual Current Device disconnects the supply in the event of a fault.
Functional Testing of Isolators and Breakers – to ensure that they disconnect the supply.
On completion of the testing a full NICEIC report will be issued highlighting any remedial work that may be required. We can then offer you a quote for the work required or you are completely free to use whoever you choose to carry this out.
This ensures complete transparency in our testing.
